Containers with Ballot Boxes being moved from Convention Center

The containers filled with Ballot Boxes from the March 02 General and Regional Elections are being moved from the Arthur Chung Convention Center (ACCC) at Lilliendaal, Greater Georgetown to the Headquarters of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) at Kingston, Georgetown.

The decision to move the containers came as a surprise to the various Political Parties, with the exception of the governing coalition, who are currently guarding them owing to fears of tampering. The fears came as a result of the controversy surrounding the results of Electoral District Four (Demerara-Mahaica).

The results for the District were deemed highly suspicious by Opposition Parties and Observer Missions after they contended that the process lacked credibility and transparency.
