Convicted drug trafficker arrested, sent to prison
After being sentenced to three years’ imprisonment in absentia on March 13, 21-year-old Kevon Ridley Abrams was arrested on Thursday.
The young vendor, of Lot 121 First Bridge, Diamond New Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara (EBD), was charged with the possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
Police state that on November 25, 2019, he had 461 grams of cannabis in his possession at St. Ignatius Benab, Central Rupununi, Region Nine (Upper Takutu-Upper Essequibo). However, he was released on bail pending his trial, but be never returned to court for his trial.
Now that he has been arrested, he will be sent to prison to serve his sentence.
