Cop commits suicide after “compromising” photo leaked

A Police constable took his own life on Sunday evening after a photograph ended up on Facebook of him kissing another man.
The dead Police constable has been identified as 20-year-old Peter Shivraj Harilal of Bath Settlement, West Coast Berbice.

Based on reports received, the young police rank, who had been stationed at Clonbrook Police Station, ECD, became perturbed after the photo appeared on social media, and he had gone to drink with his friends. While partying, he reportedly told his friends about the incident, and threatened to take his own life, but they convinced him not to entertain that thought. However, the young man left his friends and went home, where he reportedly committed the act. His body was discovered by a relative, and an alarm was raised.
A relative of the dead man, when contacted, refused to provide any information, but confirmed that the young man had consumed a poisonous substance at home, and had died at the Fort Wellington Hospital.
