Cop critical following EBD accident

Police Sergeant Joseph Elton Ambrose, 42, who is stationed at Alberttown Police Station and resides at Herstelling, East Bank Demerara (EBD), is in critical condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital, following an accident.
Reports are the Sergeant was injured about 23:45h on Sunday on the Herstelling Public Road.
According to the Police, enquiries revealed that the Policeman, who was driving motor car PMM 9099 north along the western carriageway of the road, reportedly at a fast pace, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the rear of motor lorry GLL 5592, which was parked.
Public-spirited citizens rushed to the man’s aid and took the unconscious cop to the Diamond hospital, where he was treated and transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital.
Sergeant Ambrose is currently on annual leave.
