Cop dies after crashing into parked truck

A policeman was on Thursday evening killed following an accident along the Mocha Access Road, East Bank Demerara (EBD).

Dead: Faustin Magloire

Dead is 27-year-old Faustin Magloire of Perseverance Housing Scheme, EBD. He was stationed at the North Ruimveldt Police Outpost.
Police stated that on the day in question, at about 19:30h, Magloire was driving motor car PYY 9539 at a fast rate of speed when he collided with the truck which was parked along with the road, with its lights on.

The car, Police stated, was proceeding east along the northern side of the said road when the front portion collided with the rear of the motor lorry.
As a result of the collision, the motor car ended up on the southern side of the said road where it collided with the right-side rear door of another car, HC 2865, which was proceeding west along the southern side of the said road.
Magloire received injuries about his body and was pronounced dead at the scene. The body was taken to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home for storage and to awaits a post-mortem examination.
An investigation was launched, and a notice of intended prosecution was served on both the drivers of HC 2865 and the motor lorry after which breathalyser tests were done.
No trace of alcohol was found in their systems.
