A 30-year-old policeman was on Tuesday charged with the July 5, 2025, armed robbery committed on a resident of Lethem, Central Rupununi, Region Nine (Upper Takatu-Upper Essequibo).
Teon Daniels of Culvert City, Central Rupununi, was arrested on July 16, 2025, but appeared before Magistrate Omadatt Chandan at the Lethem Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, where the indictable charge was read to him.
The prosecution objected to bail, but this was denied by the Magistrate, who placed the accused on $200,000 bail with the condition that he reports to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters on the last Friday of every month.
He will make his next court appearance on November 6, 2025.
