A Lance Corporal was injured on Tuesday after he lost control of the car he was driving and crashed on the Triumph Public Road, on the East Coast of Demerara.

According to Regional Commander, Assistant Commissioner Royston Andries Junor, the policeman was not on duty at the time of the accident and was the lone occupant of the vehicle. Reports are the car landed face down in a drain and is severely damaged.
The cop was extracted from the vehicle by public-spirited citizens and taken to the Dr CC Nicholson Hospital in Nabaclis, East Coast Demerara. Police are probing the incident.
