The GPF Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) is currently investigating a complaint made against a member of the Guyana Police Force stationed at the Mabaruma Police Station in Region One (Barima-Waini).
In a brief statement issued on Friday, the Police have said this unfortunate incident has been widely circulated on social media.
While much information has not been divulged, the Police have said the complaint arose from an incident in which the police rank had allegedly scolded two minors – his cousins who reside with him and his mother at Hosororo Village in Region One.
“Investigators from the Office of Professional Responsibility have contacted the victims’ relatives as the investigation continues. The involved Police officer is also being questioned,” the report has said.
