Corentyne man found hanging after attempting to kill wife

A Corentyne labourer was on Sunday morning found handing at his Fyrish, Berbice home.
Dead is Vimal Palkissoon also called “Navin” 37, of Lot 57 Fyrish Road, Corentyne, Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne).
According to reports, Palkissoon was arrested on Saturday after his wife Kristina Drepaul, 33, had accused him of physically abusing and attempting to kill her.
She had previously made several reports of similar nature at the Albion Police Station. Palkissoon was arrested on Saturday but released on Sunday.
Reports are that after his release, he went home and took a bath after which he attacked the woman again. He reportedly choked the woman and threatened to kill her and then himself.

The mother of two was able to fight him off after which she sprung out of bed, ran out of the house and went to her mother’s house which is located in the same yard.
The woman had left her 11-year-old son behind. About ten minutes later, he left the house to go to his grandmother’s home and whilst walking, he cried that his father was hanging. Upon hearing that, the abused woman ran home only to find her husband’s motionless body. The police were summoned to the scene and an investigation was launched.
