Corentyne pensioner murdered – autopsy

The Corentyne, Berbice pensioner whose body was recovered from an Albion Sugar Estate drainage canal on Wednesday afternoon was murdered.
The body of Ramdai Samnarine, 73, called “Aunty Pato”, was found floating in the canal at about 16:30h on Wednesday.
An autopsy performed on the body on Thursday by Government Pathologist, Dr Nehaul Singh, gave the cause of death as blunt trauma to the head.

to the neck and blunt force trauma to the back of the head.
The autopsy was performed at Anthony’s Funeral Home at Fort Wellington, West Coast Berbice.
The mother of three reportedly left home on Tuesday to visit a doctor. She lived with her 77-year-old husband. The couple had been married for more than 50 years.
At the time the body was discovered, the money the woman left home with was not in her belongings, leaving her relatives to believe she was robbed before being murdered.
Police are investigating.
