Three exciting football matches will occur this evening when the Corona Invitational Tournament resumes at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) Ground, Bourda.
The first match which kicks off at 17:00hrs will feature Police FC and Black Pearl. That will followed by Pele and Northern Rangers FC from 19:00 hrs. The final match will pit Riddim Squad against Santos from 21:00 hrs.
Organiser Troy Mendonca while speaking to the media on Thursday, said the matches are what fans should look forward to given that they will engage some youth against experience. With rain causing the frequent postponement of the earlier rounds, Mendonca expressed great enthusiasm and hope that the weather remains as it is now so that momentum can build and fans enjoy football where it belongs, on the field.
The tournament will be played on a round-robin knock-out phase with two groups of six teams. The top four from the respective groups will advance to the knock-out phase.
The teams are playing for first place prize of one million dollars and championship trophy while second to fourth will pocket $400,000, $200,000 and $100,000 respectively and the corresponding accolade.
The other participating are: Campton FC, Georgetown Football Club, Beacons FC, Western Tigers, Flamingo FC and East Ville FC.
Organisers are reminding patrons that ladies are free for all matches and they are several promotions for Corona.
