Madanna Calvan, 20, of Cotton Field, Essequibo Coast, was on Monday granted $40,000 bail for unlawfully wounding a doctor with a glass bottle. The woman appeared before Magistrate Dylon Bess at the Charity Magistrate’s Court.
She was slapped with the charge of unlawful wounding which stated that on August 1, 2016, at the Charity Wharf, in Charity, Essequibo Coast, she took a glass bottle and wounded Fiona Willams, causing bodily harm.
Williams was at the time visiting Region Two for a wedding when an argument ensued. Williams is a doctor from Tuschen Village, East Bank Essequibo.
Calvan pleaded not guilty to the charge and will return to court on August 22.
