Two of the fastest-growing cricket clubs in Berbice, Cotton Tree and Whim Cricket Club, battled for supremacy in Berbice Cricket Board Anil Lalsa Construction Service 40-over quarter-final.

Cotton Tree came out victorious, crushing the visitors by 128 runs at the Cotton Tree Cricket Club ground.
The home team was asked to bat first and posted 288-7 in 40 overs. Abdol Subhan led the way with an unbeaten 59, while Nick Ramsaroop scored 55.
Roshan Gaffoor and Nashad Gaffoor both made 37 runs, while Daniel Harrynarine chipped in with 34.
Bowling for Whim, Toney Sookram claimed 2-48 from his allotted eight overs, being the pick of the bowlers.
Whim replied with 160 all out in 28.5 overs, with former Berbice youth player Surrendra Budhu rolling back the clock with a shot-filled 67.
Bowling for the spirited Cotton Tree team, Tyrone Jairam had 3-8 from four overs. Pooran Persaud and Abdol Subhan had two wickets each.
Cotton Tree Die Hard are now awaiting their opponents in the semi-final of the tournament.
