The Canada Premier Softball Cricket League (CPSCL) has made a financial donation to cancer victim Fiona Ali, who is battling with stage-four cancer.
The presentation was made on Saturday evening at the Kalypso Hut Restaurant in Mississauga, where a dinner and dance was held to raise funds for this 32-year-old female from Windsor Forest, West Coast Demerara in Guyana.
Events Manager of the CPSCL, Canada-based Guyanese Munir Bashir, and Treasurer Shabana Bashir were on hand to do the presenting of the cash.
Organiser of the event, Elaine Pooja, in her brief remarks, thanked the League for the donation. She informed that Fiona would be happy with this monetary donation, and would fight hard to win the battle against the disease.

Fiona is currently in Miami, undergoing chemotherapy.
Munir Bashir has said that the CPSCL is more than delighted to contribute to a worthy cause, and has extended best wishes to Fiona. Munir further stated that the league, which was formed two years ago, will support any endeavour or venture of this importance.
Munir also thanked the League’s president, Patrick Singh, for his supportive role as well. Singh is also a Canada-based Guyanese.
At the night’s proceedings, several singers came out to show their support, including the prominent Anil Singh.
