Craig woman robbed during home invasion

A 52-year-old woman of Craig, East Bank Demerara (EBD) was robbed at knifepoint after two bandits broke into her home during the wee hours of Wednesday.
The woman, a shopkeeper, told investigators that she was awakened by the robbers at around 01:30h, and was held at knifepoint while the robbers demanded that she hand over all her valuables.
The bandits ransacked her home and confiscated two television sets valued at $500,000; a pair of gold earrings valued at $10,000; a gold ring valued at $27,000; and $5,000 in cash.
The Police have said that investigations so far have revealed that the suspects gained entry into the building by prying open a window and cutting an internal steel grill.
