CS&TC to host Pre-Emancipation Race Walk slated for July 25

Race walkers will resume the intense battle for honours when the Cavaliers Sports and Tour Club (CS&TC), in association with the Verman Bedessee Foundation USA, stages its Pre-Emancipation 10k Race Walk on July 25, 2021.

The highly-anticipated event will kickstart at 07:00h and will utilise the inner circuit of D’Urban Park. It is open to all ages and genders. The CS&TC has noted that all race walkers must be present at 06:30h sharp for a prompt start.
Race walking in Guyana has begun to attract international attention and the CS&TC, which is noted for the promotion of the sport in the country, has teamed up with the Verman Bedessee Foundation based in USA to further promote and develop the sport across the country. This is being done with the goal of Guyana winning an Olympic medal in race walking.
The club is happy with the attention and involvement of the Verman Bedessee Foundation, and noted this programme will help to push the sport to international standard.
Trophies, medals, and lucrative prizes will be up for grabs.
