Dear Editor,
The Public Health Minister Volda Lawrence was delivering her speech on Budget 2019 to justify that the Health Sector is good for Guyanese. What the Minister failed to inform the Guyanese people, is that despite having a good Health Sector the Government does not use the local health facilities, they access their healthcare overseas. What was even more disturbing is that the Minister held two photographs to justify that the CT scan machine is in working order at the New Amsterdam Hospital, but the truth is that the CT scan machine is not working, the machine is still installing and is not operable as yet.
The Minister should ensure that information provided is accurate before it is presented to the National Assembly and the people of Guyana.
