Yosmel Peres Cisnero, a Cuban national, who was arrested on March 14 was on Monday charged for arriving in Guyana by sea disembarked without consent of an Immigration Officer’, Contrary to Section 34(1)(c) of the Immigration Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 14:01.
The 39-year-old appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Fabayo Azore, where the charge was read to him.
He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three months imprisonment.
