Curtis Dey wins Singh O Hardware and General Store race

Team Evolution riders dominated yesterday’s Singh O Hardware General Store 50-mile race on the West Bank of Demerara.
Curtis Dey stopped the clock in one hour, 42 minutes and 48 seconds in the Open category, while his teammate Christopher Griffith came in second position. Team Kaieteur Attack leader Alex Mendes rode in third, while Paul DeNobrega of Team Evolution came in fourth.

Kemuel Moses and Alexander Leung rode fifth and sixth respectively to complete the Open category.
In the Junior category, Leung rode first, followed by Arjune Sukhai (second) and Sherwin Sampson (third). In the Veterans Under-50 category, Mendes emerged as victor, followed by Berbician Junior Niles and Walter Grant-Stuart.
Talim Shaw was the top Over-50 rider, followed by Ian Jackson and Lui Perreira.
Linden’s Clevicia Spencer won the female category, while Berbician Marica Dick finished second. Thirty-two starters took centre stage, and six sprint prizes were up for grabs during the race. DeNobrega won three sprint prizes, while Shaw, Ammal Gibbs and Leung had one each.
The race started at Schoonord and pedalled towards Bushy Park in Parika, before returning to the origin for the finish. (Brandon Corlette)
