Cut & Load, Scorpions continue winning ways

Number 72 Cut and Load and Number 43 Scorpions highlighted Round two of the Upper Corentyne Cricket Association (UCCA)/Roy Baijnauth T20 competition which continued last weekend.
Some 12 remaining teams battled to secure spots in the quarter final round of the competition with the two aforementioned sides notching up victories. At the # 73 Young Warriors ground, # 43 Scorpions defeated the # 77 Cricket Club by 50 runs.
Batting first the Scorpions scored 118 all out with batsmen T. Persaud (24), Ronald Pottaya (15) the main run scorers. Bowling for # 77 was led by Gajendra Ramnarine, Kenny Rogers and Nazarudeen Persaud who snared 3-15, 3-22 and 2-24 respectively.
In reply, # 77 CC were bowled out for 68 runs in just 14 overs after Farook Drepaul of the # 43 Scorpion bowlers snared 4-18, with support coming from Persaud 3-17, Marcel Harvel 2-12 and Bhojpaul Deen 1-11.
In the second match, # 72 Cut & Load got the better of # 70 Muslim Youth Organization (MYO) at their Club’s ground in # 72 Villages. Winning the toss and batting first, # 70 MYO scored 101 all out in 17.2 overs with Fazir Ali top-scoring with 49.
Bowling for Cut & Load, Rishi Persaud 4-17, Davenand Chatterpaul 2-17, Ramesh Omapersaud 2-20 and Clavern Beresford 1-20 were the wicket taking bowlers.
Batting second, # 72 Cut & Load raced to the target as they cemented their spot in the next round by reaching 104 for 6 in 12.4 overs. Batsman Rishi Persaud struck a belligerent 51, while Ramesh Joseph scored 15.
Neazi Khan with 3-11, led # 70 MYO to an easy four wicket win.
The competition continues this weekend.
