– Kraigg Brathwaite hits double century against Jamaica

Batting the Harpy Eagles out of the contest, the Hurricanes declared on 438-7, made in 146 overs. In reply, Harpy Eagles scored 265 all out in 50.1 overs, after scoring 116 all out in the first innings.

Alzarri Joseph claimed five wickets in the second innings

The island boys, Hurricanes, started the day with a 250-run lead, resuming on 366-5. Terrence Warde remained unbeaten on 78 from 168 balls, with eight fours and one six.
Earlier, Kieran Powell (74), Devon Thomas (72) and Montcin Hodge (71) each contributed to the Hurricanes’ dominance of the match. After Rahkeem Cornwall was removed early in the day for 15 by Gudakesh Motie, Colin Archibald came and attacked the bowling in his 19-ball 38, which had four sixes and two fours, and was featuring in a 66-run seventh-wicket partnership with Warde when Hurricanes declared on 438-7, having a lead of 322.
With their top order being blown away, the Guyana Harpy Eagles were quickly reduced to 14-3. Tagenarine Chanderpaul, who was strangled down the leg-side, made four, while Shimron Hetmyer made five before being out playing a loose shot and getting caught in the gully. Leon Johnson, who was trying to work one into the leg-side, was trapped by Alzarri Joseph, who ended up with five wickets.
Vishal Singh (18) and Chanderpaul Hemraj then added 59 runs to their team’s total before Hemraj, looking dangerous in striking Joseph for four consecutive fours, was then bowled by Jeremiah Louis after he scored 50 from 45 balls, with 11 fours.
Bramble came and counter-attacked, hitting reverse sweeps in scoring 58 from 70 balls with two sixes and five fours. Keemo Paul (28) and Clinton Pestano (22) each played a cameo, along with Gudakesh Motie, who played an entertaining 49 from 52 balls, with six fours and two sixes. Nial Smith (17) was the final man dismissed, after he and Motie added 60 runs for the last wicket, the highest of the Harpy Eagles’ innings.
Joseph leaked 94 runs in 15 overs, but ended with five wickets. He should have had six wickets, but Devon Thomas put down a sitter.
The Regional Four-Day Championships will be suspended, and resume after the Test series against England.
