CWI Women’s Regional Tournament 2023: Campbelle, Gajnabi to lead Team Guyana

Shabika Gajnabi will be the Vice-Captain of Guyana’s Senior Women’s team

Senior national selectors of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) met on Monday, April 17, at the GCB Office to select the Guyana team for Cricket West Indies Women’s Regional Tournament, to be held in St. Kitts and Nevis from May 7 to May 30, 2023.

Shemaine Campbelle will captain Guyana’s Senior Women’s team

This squad will be led by West Indies player Shemaine Campbelle, who would have her compatriot Shabika Gajnabi as her deputy. Among the other experienced players in the squad are Cherry-Ann Fraser, Sheneta Grimmond, Kaycia Schultz and Katana Mentore, who have all represented the West Indies, in addition to West Indies under-19 captain Ashmini Munisar and talented West Indies under-19 opening batter Releanna Grimmond.
Clive Grimmond has been appointed Head Coach of the team, while Tremayne Smartt will serve as the Assistant Coach/Manager.
