Cyclist chopped during argument over cycle accident

Ricardo Singh also called “Chris”, 39, of Tuschen Housing Scheme, East Bank Essequibo (EBE), is now hospitalised after he was chopped to his arm by another man during an argument on Thursday.
Police said the incident occurred at around 20:00h at Lalli Dam Tuschen, EBE.
Based on reports received, on the day in question, Singh was riding his bicycle along Lalli Dam access road when he collided with the suspect, who was riding his bicycle along the said street.
As a result, both men dismounted their cycles and an argument broke out between them. Singh told Police that the suspect took a cutlass which he had on his bicycle and dealt him one chop to his lower forearm after which he made good his escape.
Singh was aided by a citizen who rushed him to the Leonora Cottage Hospital.
He was seen by a doctor on duty, treated and referred to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where he was admitted a patient in a stable condition. Checks were made for the suspect but he was not found.
Investigations are ongoing.
