Dartmouth Dominators complete U13 and U15 double

Dartmouth Dominators Football Club (FC) secured both the Boys’ Under-13 and Under-15 titles as the Essequibo Pomeroon Football Association (EPFA) brought its regional leg of the Guyana Football Federation’s (GFF) Youth Ensemble Programme to a successful close.

Dartmouth finished ahead of Vertex Vipers FC in the Under-13 competition, while Charity Extreme FC claimed the runner-up position in the Under-15 category.
The competition concluded with a presentation ceremony on Sunday, August 9, attended by players, club representatives, parents, officials, and other football stakeholders. GFF President Wayne Forde travelled from Georgetown to join the celebrations and recognise the achievements of the young players.
Several individual performers were also rewarded. Vertex Vipers’ Jamian Jones received the Under-13 Best Goalkeeper award, while Good Hope FC’s Selvin Williams finished as the leading goal-scorer in that age group.
In the Under-15 division, Dartmouth Dominators’ Antwone Singh was named Best Goalkeeper, while Good Hope FC’s Yohan Anthonio collected the award for the most goals.
Forde praised the EPFA Executive Committee for its dedication in delivering the competition. He also recognised the clubs, referees, parents and other stakeholders who contributed to its success.
The GFF president congratulated the players for the discipline and commitment they displayed throughout the championship. He said the Youth Ensemble Programme is an ambitious national undertaking involving more than 100 clubs across the federation’s nine regional associations.
Forde also commended the GFF’s Technical and Competitions departments and emphasised that the leadership provided by the regional associations is important to developing the country’s next generation of footballers.
Dartmouth Dominators and Vertex Vipers will now represent the EPFA in the Under-13 section of the GFF Youth Ensemble National Championship. Dartmouth and Charity Extreme will advance from the Under-15 competition.
The four teams will face the champions and runners-up from Guyana’s other eight regional associations, when the national championship begins in the coming days. Matches will be played across all nine associations during the next stage of the youth programme.
