DCB Premier Insurance U-15 Inter-Association cricket: Mohabir’s half-century propels GT to win over West Demerara

Mohabir’s half century and being well supported by bowling from Persaud and left-hand spinner Charles helped Georgetown U15 to defeat West Demerara at the Demerara Cricket Club ground in Queenstown, Georgetown.

Skipper Dave Mohabir batted with confidence as he helped his team reach the victorious total of 124 for 4 from their reduced 25 overs due to early showers. The rain did not stop the Georgetown players from shining, as the skipper was well supported by Kishan Silas who chipped in with 23 and Emanuel Lewis who contributed 11. Permeshwar Ram and Shaker Lall were the bowlers who each managed to grab one wicket.

Lall returned with the bat and tried to take his team to their target, but fell for 12, although being the lone batter to reach double figures. The team fell for an insufficient 60 for 4 from their 25 overs.
Spinner Danesh Persaud claimed 2 for 11, while Joshua Charles collected 2 for 2 and give the team a 64- run victory over the West Demerara U15 team.
In upcoming games, Georgetown will battle Upper Demerara while West Demerara will face East Bank.
