DCB/Premier Insurance U15 Inter-Association 2022 tournament: G/town pummel East Coast

On the opening day of the DCB/Premier Insurance U15 Inter-Association 2022 tournament, Silas smashed a brilliant half century as Georgetown humbled East Coast Demerara at the MYO ground.

East Coast won the toss and elected to bowl first, bowling out Georgetown for 185 from 45.3 overs of their allotted 50 overs. Opener Kishan Silas scored a comfortable 60 while being supported by Captain Dave Mohabir, who chipped it with 19. Shane Prince also produced 19, while Peter Khan contributed 13 and Emanuel Lewis contributed 11.
Mickel Sharma, the most destructive bowler for the East Coast, grabbed 6 for 23 from 6.3 overs with 3 maidens, while Alonzo Ramsingh, Munesh Outer, Arun Gainda and Ravin Persaud each collected one wicket.
In reply, East Coast struggled to reach their target, falling woefully short of their total as they could score only 66 all out from 38.2 overs of their allotted 50 overs. Munesh Outer top scored with 13, while Aaron Kissoon scored 10, but no other batter reached double figures.
Bowling for Georgetown, Brandon Henry snatched 6 for 4 from 8 overs with 5 maidens, while Reyaz Latif claimed 2 for 11, and Prince and Mohabir each collected a wicket in support of the Georgetown bowling.
Georgetown won the match by 119 runs.
Yesterday, Wednesday, February 23, East Coast were slated to face Upper Demerara at Enmore Ground, East Coast, while East Bank Demerara were scheduled to go head-to-head with Georgetown at the MYO Ground. All matches started at 9:30 hrs.
