De Jesus’s 122, Edoo’s 7-16 highlight latest round

MYO Inter-Jamaat Softball Cricket Competition…
The Inter-Jamaat 15-over Softball Cricket Competition sponsored by the Muslim Youth Organisation (MYO) of Guyana continued on Sunday at the MYO Ground, where New Amsterdam, Diamond New Scheme and Tuschen Train Station Masjid (TTSM) secured victories.

The first fixture saw New Amsterdam take on LBI in a thriller, as New Amsterdam posted a challenging 199-5. Keon De Jesus scored a magnificent 122, which included twelve sixes and nine boundaries, while Zahil Moakan chipped in with 16. For LBI, Captain Safraz Ally was the only one contributing anything substantial, as he picked up 2 wickets.
Needing 200 for victory LBI found it tough in their pursuit, and collapsed for 63 all out in 13 overs, their chief tormentor being Wahab Edoo with figures of 7 – 16 runs.

In the other fixture between New Amsterdam and Diamond New Scheme, the former batted first and posted 103- 7 in their allotted overs, as De Jesus again enjoyed himself with the bat, scoring 71.

For Diamond, Ajay Kishan and Keisho Ramsarran picked up 3 wickets apiece for 19 and 25 runs respectively.
In the chase, Diamond lost wickets at regular intervals, but managed to secure a win, even with the loss of 9 wickets.
Rawl Reid scored 22 and Patrick Khan supported with 18 to take Diamond over the line, despite Safraz Kassim bagging 3-20 and Edoo picking up 2-24.

TTSM, fresh from their victory last week, continued their winning ways against New Mosque, taking first strike.
Tuschen posted 129-9. Imtiaz Hack made 29 runs, and was ably supported by Daniel Chunoo and Harry Singh with 22 runs each. Faizul Nazeem picked up 3-21 for New Mosque.
New Mosque, in their reply, fell short by 30 runs, ending up with 99-8 despite efforts from Rahim Ali (40) and Abdullah Roberts (17).
Bowling for TTSM was Pascal Hosie, who picked up 3 wickets and Ameer Azim with 2, while Arshad Azim had one.
