Steven De Nobrega is currently tied on third place with 30 points Raj Rajkaran but come November 27 the motor biker will be racing towards a top podium finish when the Stag Beer Grass track finals conclude at the Ogle Community Centre Ground.

“I’m determined to win and I’m always pressured to do exceptionally well since it’s in Georgetown and a lot of my friend and family come out to support so fans can be in for a real show down since I’m fresh off seven victories and I’m coming as hard as I can,” De Nobrega said when he spoke to Guyana Times Sport on Saturday.

Currently Ravin Rajkumar leads the point standings with 65 points while defending champion Andy Wong is in second place on 60 points and De Nobrega was hoping that at this stage he could have already secured the title.

“The races were really suppose to be held countrywide but unfortunately there was only one round held I was really looking to wrap it up in the 3rd or 4th round so I’ll try my best to finish on the top step; I just need to pull off good starts and maintain the pace as the race progress”, the 21 year-old stated.

De Nobrega, who really enjoys the sport says the trill comes from the fact that as the race progresses it becomes more challenging. The racer is also hoping that business and private entities should support this form of racing since there has not been racing for two years now and person are losing interest.

The racer says that he’s is hopeful that he is extremely grateful for all the support Harold Hopkinson, Nexa Auto Color, One love taxi service and Rover world have given him over the years. De Nobrega’s Honda CR125 is currently under repairs but the rider says that it will finished in time for the event.
