Decomposing body of Grove man found in home

The body of a 54-year-old man was discovered in a partially decomposed state at his Grove, East Bank Demerara (EBD) home on Wednesday.
The man has been identified as Harry Samuel of Lot 446 Back Street, Grove. Police said the man was found in a semi-decomposed state on his bed in the front room of the two-storey wooden and concrete structure.
Based on reports received, the man was found by his neighbour on Wednesday at about 12:30h.
The woman told Police that she observed a strong stench coming from the man’s house, and decided to venture over to check on him but to her horror, she found him dead. Reports are that the man, who was living alone, was last seen alive on April 1.
His body was transported to the mortuary and is awaiting a post-mortem examination. Investigations are ongoing.
Just a few weeks ago, the lifeless body of an 81-year-old man was discovered at his North Sophia, Greater Georgetown premises in a state of decomposition.
Dead is Budhan Singh, a pensioner of Block R North Sophia, Greater Georgetown.
Based on reports received, the now dead man lived alone. His daughter, who lives on the East Coast of Demerara, told detectives that she visited him on January 14.
However, when she returned a few days later and called out to her father, her calls went unanswered. Suspecting that something was amiss, she requested assistance to break the door in order to enter the house. After doing so, she found her father’s decomposing body lying on the bed without clothes. Foul play was not suspected. (G9)
