Decomposed body of Linden youth pulled from Kuribrong River

Police are investigating the suspected drowning of a 28-year-old miner of Linden, whose decomposed body was recovered from the Blackwater Backdam Kuribrong River in Region Eight on Friday.

The dead man has been identified as Owen Charles of Block 22, Wismar, Linden, Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice).
Based on reports received, Charles is suspected to have drowned between 16:00h and 17:00h at the location on Monday. His body was, however, discovered until Friday at about 09:00h.
The body was escorted to a funeral home in Linden and was expected to be transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where a post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
The police are nevertheless continuing their investigations.
