Decomposed body of minibus driver found in canefield

Several days after he was reported missing, the decomposed body of 68-year-old Hardat Mangru was discovered in a canfield aback Enterprise, East Coast Demerara (ECD) on Thursday.

The Police have said that, following a missing person’s report made on September 28, 2021, an investigation launched led to the discovery of the deceased. Acting on information received, a party of Policemen went to the canefields at Enterprise Backdam and found the partially decomposed body of a male. As such, the family of the missing minibus driver was contacted, and the body was positively identified by the son of the deceased.
The body was examined, but no visible marks of violence were seen on the exposed parts. It has been taken to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home to await a post mortem.
