Decomposed body of unidentified male found in Eccles canal

The decomposed body of a so-far-unidentified male has been pulled from a canal in Eccles, East Bank Demerara, on Thursday.
Police have said they were summoned to the scene by a passerby who had seen the body in the canal. The body was clad in a pair of black joggers with pink writing, a blue jersey, and a pair of Nike sneakers.
The police have said that, having examined the body and finding no marks of violence thereon, they have taken the body to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home to await identification and autopsy.
Investigations are ongoing.
