Police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a Moruca, North West District (NWD), Region One (Barima-Waini) man, whose body was found in a sitting position in the community.
Dead is 37-year-old Ryan Roberts of Hurradiah Village, Moruca, NWD, who went missing on December 30, 2017.
The harrowing discovery was made about 10:00h on Sunday by villagers. A rope was tied around the dead man’s neck and attached to a tree.
Roberts’ facial skin was removed, and his body was bloated. Sources close to the investigation revealed that an acidic-like agent was seen on the bones of his face.
According to the dead man’s mother, her son resided with her and left home on December 30 to go to a shop in the village, but failed to return.
As a result of the state of decomposition, Roberts was buried. However, his body is expected to be exhumed sometime this week for a post-mortem examination.
