Defending champions Sparta Boss through to semi-finals

Defending champions, Sparta Boss sealed their semi-final spot in the Ministry of Public Health/Petra Organisation Soft Shoe Football tournament when the action resumed on Monday night at the Parade Ground.

Despite the soggy conditions, Sparta Boss were able to inflict a 5-0 drubbing in Queen Street Tiger Bay due to doubles by Gregory Richardson (8th and 24th) and Devon Millington (9th, 20th); Denise Edwards was other goal scorer in the 30th minute.

Meanwhile, the Globe Yard clash with Tucville was one of the most riveting matches of the evening, which saw ten goals being scored during normal time.

The seesaw match ended 5-5, after which Tucville won 6-5 on penalties; Dellon Lanferman gifted himself a hat-Soft Shoetrick, netting in the 3rd, 12 and 27th minute.

Andrew Murrary Jnr also recorded goals in a losing cause, netting in the 9th and 20th minute.

For the spirited Tucville team, Dennis Edwards (19th and 23rd) Kareem Knights (25th and 28th) and Tefon Daily were the men on point.

In the other two matches, North East Lapenitence defeated Sophia 3-1 on penalty kicks after the match ended 1-1. Dwayne Lowe in the 21st had given Sophia the lead but Devon Charles produced a stunning equaliser in the 29th.

Broad Street were also in winners row, easing to a 3-1 win over Kitty Weavers. Eon Richardson etched his name unto the score sheet twice (12th and 16th) while Jamal Cozier laid the finishing touches with conversion in the 28th; Colin Clark produced a consolation goal in the 24th for Kitty.

The semi-final matches will be played on Thursday at the Tucville ground, where Sparta Boss will face North East La Penitance while the home side will play Broad Street.
