Defending champs eyeing semi-final spot

Defending champions of the Smalta/Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) 11-years and under Girls football tournament, St Angela’s Primary will be looking to maintain their winning ways as they seek to progress another step closer to another championship.
The tournament continues today with quarterfinal matches at the Ministry of Education (MOE) ground on Carifesta Avenue.
The action gets underway from 11:00h with the first quarterfinal between St. Angela’s and Tucville Primary. En route to the quarter-finals, the champions needled North Georgetown in their first match, while achieving a walkover against School of the Nations last Saturday. Meanwhile, Tucville suffered a heavy 8-0 defeat last weekend and will be looking to rebound today.

Today promises a packed day of action in the Girls Peewee tournament

The second quarterfinal match will peg the inform St. Pius that walloped Tucville 8-0 last weekend against the F.E. Pollard unit who will be coming into the game with some confidence after they sank South Ruimveldt 2-0 on the last match day.
Quarterfinal three kicks off at 12:45h and will see West Ruimveldt clashing with Redeemer Primary while the final quarterfinal will see South Ruimveldt matching skills with North Georgetown Primary.
Saturday promises to be action packed and following the quarterfinal games, the ladies will be at it again in Semi-final action that will have first whistle blown at 14:00h.
In addition, on Saturday there will be two exhibition matches between Boys’ under-11 teams that just completed the Courts Tournament. Those games will be West Ruimveldt vs. Plaisance Orphanage and Enterprise Primary vs. Sophia.
