As Guyanese celebrate our rich cultural diversity, Emancipation will be celebrated on August 1, 2017, but there are a number of events planned for the entire month of August.
This year, the Den Amstel Dynamic Network will be hosting for the first time, an Emancipation Pageant on August 5 at the Den Amstel Community Centre Ground.
The event will see six radiant young ladies competing for the inaugural title. The delegates will compete in the introduction, personality interview, personal style display, talent, evening gown, and final question segments.
The newly-formed Den Amstel Dynamic Network is focused on building youth capacity in the community with specific focus on mentorship and educational development.
The Pageant, however, aims at fostering community and cultural development while educating delegates about the village’s history. Tickets for the pageant cost $500.
