Dem Mutual partners with LGC to give back to customers

In their heated pursuit to popularise golf in Guyana, the Lusignan Golf Club, in partnership with Demerara Mutual, has streamlined a number of initiatives that will allow more persons to become familiar with the game.

As the duo prepare for their annual tournament, which will tee-off tomorrow (October 13) at the Lusignan Golf Course, they have also put other plans into place to attract new fans to the sport. Among these plans is the giveaway of tickets to the annual Guyana Open Cup, which is slated for November 3 and 4.
“We’re offering all members of the client base, if they come in to his offices nationwide, they’ll receive a free invitation to the Guyana Open, which will allow them to win one of a half a million dollars in prizes and this is compliments of the Demerara Mutual Group,” Lusignan Golf Club President Aleem Hussain stated.
After the announcement of the free offer, Demerara Mutual Senior Marketing Manager Clarence Perry disclosed that the company would be hosting a health fair in its Avenue of the Republic and Robb Street compound, at which clients can uplift their tickets to the Guyana Open. These offers, Perry noted, fuel his hope that golf can continue to grow in Guyana.
“We do hope that we can see not only as a result of ourselves, but other corporate groups participating, so golf will grow from strength to strength. You know in Guyana, it’s traditionally cricket and football, but with continued exposure and sponsorship of these events, hopefully, we can have more persons participating in golf in the future.”
Going a step further, Hussain has extended an invitation to the staff and clients of the insurance company, should they want to learn the game.
“Lusignan Golf Club is pleased to offer their staff and clients free lessons to anyone who is willing to learn this game. All they have to do is come out, make an appointment and we’ll give them all the golf equipment absolutely free, compliments of the Demerara Mutual Group,” Hussain said.
In addition to this, Lusignan Golf Club Secretary Guy Griffith has also extended an invitation to players from corporate entities who wish to be a part of the sport. He detailed that groups of three, five and seven would be accepted, adding “And what that enables is participation by several persons at a cost that is quite manageable by the corporate group.”
