Demerara announce squad

Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) will on Tuesday bowl off its Igloo Ice Cream Under-17 Inter County Tournament and Demerara has announced a 14 member squad along with four reserves to participate in the four team challenge.
The players selected for this squad earned their position due to their performance during the Demerara Inter-Association U-17 Tournament which featured four teams, namely-West Demerara, East Coast, East Bank and Georgetown teams. They would have had to execute skills beyond their peers to earn their places.

Included in this squad are several familiar players who have already featured in junior national teams. They are expected to provide experience for a unit who are strong contenders to win the tournament. Among these known talents are Ashmead Nedd, Sachin Singh, Alphius Bookie, Qumar Torrington among others.
Their fiercest rivals are expected to be Berbice but if their batting hold its own then it would be difficult for the unit from the Ancient County.
Fixtures for the tournament will be released soon but two matches are scheduled for Tuesday in the county of Demerara.
The full squad reads: Sachin Singh, Rajendra Singh, Andrew Samaroo, Alphius Bookie, Kevin Christian, Anusuega Rodrigues, Adrian Hinds, Robin Williams, Qumar Torrington, Elion Whyte, Ashmead Nedd, Kester McAllister, Hemnauth Dindyal and Pradesh Balkishun.
The players in the reserves are; Dequan Bamfield, Jeremiah Scott, Dextroy Hymond and Yudister Persaud.
