Demerara Bank Limited is set to launch its new mobile banking app and upgraded online banking platform on Saturday, giving customers access to a wider range of banking services without visiting a branch.
The launch will take place at the bank’s Beterverwagting branch from 11:00h to 18:00h, where customers will be able to register for the new platform and receive assistance from Demerara Bank’s team.
Customers will also be able to participate in live demonstrations and receive guidance on using the app and its features.
The bank said customers can self-register without completing a physical application form or visiting a branch.
The Mobile Banking App will allow customers to view account balances, transactions and statements; transfer funds between Demerara Bank accounts and other local banks; and make bill payments to services including GWI, IPED, GRA, NBS, ENET, Digicel, and One Communications.
Customers will also be able to pay their Demerara Bank credit cards, submit wire transfer requests and track their status, while receiving real-time notifications and updates on transactions and applications.
The platform will also allow customers to create payment templates, set up recurring payments and transfers, and apply for accounts, car loans, housing loans and credit cards while tracking the progress of their applications.
Other features include the ability to update customer profiles, view credit card balances and statements, block or unblock credit cards, submit banking service requests and book appointments.
Customers will also be able to access the platform using biometric or facial authentication.
The app is compatible with Android and iOS smartphones, iPads, tablets, and computers.
