The East Bank Football Association (EBFA) Under-13 Academy Training Centre Team are set to take on their Georgetown counterparts in Sunday’s historic final of the Guyana Football Federation’s (GFF’s) inaugural Inter-Academy Championship, and DeSinco Ltd, through Managing Director Frank De Abreu, has made a timely donation to that team.

At a simple but significant presentation held at DeSinco Trading’s Eccles Industrial Site location on Wednesday December 1st, De Abreu congratulated the EBFA ATC for the admirable and committed work they have been putting in with the youths, which has earned them a spot in Sunday’s historic final.
“It is always a very good thing to see that our youths are exposed to the fundamentals of the game from an early age, and exposed to competition in the correct setting, which would eventually serve this nation well in the future. The positive results that you guys have been enjoying did not come overnight; it is because you have been deliberate in your efforts to train hard and do what is right, along with the support of the GFF,” he said.
DeAbreu further posited that it is as a result of their dedication at the ATC, led by Technical Development Officer (TDO) Devnon Winter and his committed support staff, that his company sought to recognise and reward them for their efforts.
A dozen footballs were handed over to the EBFA ATC to ensure that they continue to build on the successes they have been reaping to date.
“These footballs, I am sure, would assist you to keep working hard with these youths, who have been showing real commitment to the game.
“I must commend the GFF for this level of investment so early in the careers of these players, and we here at DeSinco Trading would continue to do our part as a good corporate citizen.”
De Abreu wished the team the best in Sunday’s final, and promised to continue to lend support as the Academy continues to grow from strength to strength in the coming weeks, months and years.
On behalf of the Association, EBFA Vice President Lambert Clayton offered sincere gratitude to Mr. De Abreu and De Sinco Ltd for the timely support. He noted that the players would be very happy that their efforts have been recognised by this company, and by someone who is not a stranger to the game.
“The EBFA is well aware that you have been of yeoman service to the sport, not only from a business perspective, but serving as well as Under-20 National Team Manager some years ago. We are satisfied that this is just the beginning of a great partnership between our two organisations, and we would like to assure you that our efforts would continue to be aimed at setting a solid foundation for these players to excel for themselves and ultimately Guyana,” Clayton said.
