Do not fool yourself, we’re all in love with the icy sweetness of a good ‘ole Guyanese custard, juice, and “bomb”, no matter how much we claim that we are not. There is definitely something about sipping freshly-blended fruit that gives you satisfaction like no other. But sometimes there is a hassle in finding that perfect sweetness that hits close to home. ![](https://guyanatimesgy.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/WhatsApp-Image-2022-02-19-at-12.19.30-PM-1-300x300.jpeg)
Raymond Seecharan, a 28-year-old businessman who was born and grown on the West Coast of Demerara, Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara), in an interview with this publication, said that his dream is to create a network of opportunities by creating jobs and providing services, improving assistance for the people in need, whether it’s education, medical assistance, food and nutrition, fitness and art, and his business partners bring you Dessert Kings, a local fruit juice business that specialises in the making of custards, fruit juices, and creamy delicious bombs.![](https://guyanatimesgy.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/WhatsApp-Image-2022-02-19-at-12.19.30-PM-300x300.jpeg)
The idea to provide sweet Guyanese flavour to the community sprung to Raymond in January of 2021. He had one vision in mind, and that was making local juices. The business, with the help of his friends, started off like any other new business would, small and slow. In the beginning, Dessert Kings only specialised in making fruit juices and bombs in a variety of flavours, like, passion fruit, guava, pear, soursop, monkey-apple, mango, and many more.
My throat is getting dry just thinking about all the endless flavours.
As the year progressed, Dessert Kings introduced the highly exciting custard – their bestseller – which ranges from flavours like Oreo cream, chocolate chip, Nutty Royal, Mello Cream, the Rainbow Cream, and marshmallow. You, the expecting customer, can enjoy all of these creamy mouth-watering custard flavours at Dessert Kings for affordable prices.![](https://guyanatimesgy.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/WhatsApp-Image-2022-02-19-at-12.21.43-PM-1-300x300.jpeg)
“I myself takes care of the making of the juices along with two other employees and my business partner Matthew Evans takes care of the making of the custards along with one other employee,” Seecharan said.
Though a small business operating on caravans, it already has three locations operating in Regions Three and Four (Demerara-Mahaica), offering services such as pick-up and delivery.
“Yeah well, I operate from Tucville, that’s where I live and we have pick-up spots at Aubrey Barker Road, South, opposite Tobin’s mechanic shop, there is one in Providence and Vreed-en-Hoop at Best Hospital’s road entrance. Other than the pick-up spots we also do delivery to various locations,” Raymond related.
Talk about a business well on its way.
What are the prices you ask? Don’t worry, according to Raymond, “Our juice prices range from $340 a bottle each to $400 depending on the flavour. Custards are sold $140 retail and $100 wholesale.”
