Diamond Insurance opens new Essequibo branch

Diamond Fire and General Insurance Inc on Saturday evening commissioned its fifth office on the Essequibo Coast, Region Two. The new office was opened at Barakat’s Hall, Henrietta, and will offer specialised services for all of the general insurance needs.
The comprehensive service, tailored to fit your needs will include third party insurance, machinery insurance, which covers combines, tractors, boilers and others. It also caters for contractors, marine and aviation.
Executive Chairman of the Board at Diamond Fire and General Insurance, Komal Samaroo said that the aim of the new branch in Essequibo is to cater to the needs and wellbeing of the people.
Samaroo noted that the establishment will add to the development of the county while encouraging the residents to take advantage of the services that will be provided.
“I would like to encourage everybody in Essequibo to really look at themselves, look at your assets, look at the things you do and the risk that you are exposed to and reach out to our staff and engage them so that they can help you to structure the best insurance product to fit your need…we are bringing here, a service that seeks to ensure that Essequibo progresses to even greater heights as you and your individual lives and business aspire, build and grow” Samaroo said.
Regional Chairman, Davanand Ramdatt echoed his appreciation to the management of the insurance company, especially for their coverage of contractors, who according to him, is the backbone of Essequibo.
The Chairman shared his enthusiasm over the continued growth and development of the county, adding that Diamond Insurance will not only bring about greater competition but will also create much-needed jobs in Essequibo.
“Our region as a budget agency spends close to 4 billion annually and so who are some of the beneficiaries apart from our resident? They are contractors and suppliers so it is pleasing to know and to have heard that this company will also be in a timely way processing documents that are necessary for our contractors…This business is coming at a crucial time, the economy is not as it once was but I know for sure that there is tremendous potential for growth and development. We strongly believe that this business will add to the competitiveness and will provide job creation. Having read the banner, it says “enduring service, trust and protection”.
Ramdatt noted that while agriculture is important and will remain important to Essequibo, the county is looking to build tourism.
Also delivering brief remarks, Head of the Essequibo Chamber of Commerce (ECC), Sueann Sewnarine encouraged businesses in the county to get acquainted with the insurance company and to benefit from their “top-notch” services.
She welcomed the group to Essequibo and urged the company to continue working to further develop the county.
“As the key advocacy body for business on the Essequibo Coast, we stand supported with Diamond Insurance and will certainly welcome the group as a member of the ECC as we collectively work towards development in this region…This initiative by your company is commendable as the group seeks to branch off its operation outside of the Region Four district. Certainly, this move will see greater competition on the Essequibo Coast and allow for citizens to benefit from a top-notch insurance company, something the ECC always appreciate and we must always strive on raising our standards” Sewnarine said.
Diamond Insurance has been in existence for over 20 years and has branches at Lamaha Street, Queenstown, Georgetown; Port Mourant, Corentyne, Berbice; Bush Lot, West Coast Berbice; West Public Road, Corentyne Berbice.
