Digicel paid a special visit to students and teachers of the David Rose Special School to make a donation of backpacks and other items in light of the institution’s celebration of its Golden Jubilee.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Digicel Guyana, Gregory Dean in his address to the gathering on Thursday noted that donations were made in the past, but this one was different since the school was celebrating its golden jubilee anniversary.
“We have made several visits and donations to this school over the years, but today (Thursday), it’s especially different since we are celebrating with them their anniversary. This is just one small gesture and we will continue to support and enrich the lives of the students and teachers of David Rose Special School like many other special needs schools in Guyana.”
Head teacher of David Rose, Dionne McKenzie expressed her thoughts on Digicel’s relationship with the school over the years by saying, “Digicel is no stranger to us here at David Rose; they have always been ready and willing to help us whenever we reach out to them and also by surprise visits like today.”
“We welcome their generosity and friendship and look forward to this continued relationship. Every child needs a champion and we are their champions like Digicel is also. I know the parents will be happy with these gifts,” she added.
