Digicel Guyana launches Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+

Digicel Guyana launched the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ smartphones on Thursday, April 6 at all Digicel stores countrywide.
With these new devices, Samsung continues to revolutionise the way we communicate, building a phone that reimagines the way we connect and creates the highest quality image and video content.
“Digicel and Samsung form a fitting partnership with our shared passions for cutting-edge technology and putting users in control of creating their best experience. The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ will change the way our customers capture and curate their lives, thanks to the new and enhanced features,” Digicel Guyana Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Gregory Dean said.
The Galaxy S9 and S9+ feature Samsung’s most advanced camera yet, with a dual aperture lens that powers an innovative low-light camera, super slow-motion video capabilities, and a personalised augmented reality emoji feature, broadening the way people express themselves. Some of the other features include powerful stereo speakers tuned by AKG and surround sound supported by Dolby Atmos; and Bixby, the intelligence platform that uses the camera, augmented reality and deep learning technologies to provide information about a user’s surroundings, including live foreign language translation, and image recognition based calorie tracking among others.
“The way we use our smartphones has changed as communication and self-expression has evolved,” said DJ Koh, President and Head of IT & Mobile Communications Division, Samsung Electronics. “With the Galaxy S9 and S9+, we have reimagined the smartphone camera. Not only does the Galaxy S9 and S9+ enable consumers to shoot the best photos and videos anywhere, it’s a smartphone that’s designed to help them connect to others and express themselves in a way that’s unique and personal to them.”
The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ both run on Android 8 (Oreo) and have curved super AMOLED screens measuring 5.8 inches and 6.2 inches respectively.
