Diplomats force draw against Everest

With defeat staring them in the face, Diplomats managed to hold and secure against Everest Cricket Club, after losing first innings points in the Noble House Second Division Two-day Competition at the Ghandi Youth Organisation ground.
Diplomats ended their second innings on 75 for 7 in pursuit of 443. Left-arm spinner Javed Rasheed was yet again the menace with the ball, claiming 4 for 18 from 8.4 overs to end with match haul of 13 for 64.
Everest, resuming day two with a lead of 159, were bowled out for 284, as Khemraj Ramdeen followed up his first innings 120 with another fine innings of 101, while Rasheed supported with 79. I. Caesar and K. Augustus took three wickets apiece.
On day one, Rasheed was a misery to the Diplomats batsmen when he wreaked havoc with figures of 9 for 46 from 13 overs. The spinner’s impressive returns saw Diplomats being bundled out for 147 in response to Everest CC mammoth first innings of 306 for 5 declared.
