The services of the GuyOil Gas Station on Regent Street were brought to a stand-still as a Guyana Power and Light (GPL) transformer burst into flames on Thursday.

According to reports, the fire started around noon in the vicinity of Regent and Wellington Street.
Ranks of the Guyana Fire Service were quickly on the scene and successfully contained and put out the fire.
