A dispute over 0 has left one man injured and another in Police custody. The injured man has been identified as Rondell Chisholm, 25, of Rose Hall Town, a first-year student at GuySuCo’s Port Mourant Training School.
The young man is currently a patient at the New Amsterdam Hospital, after suffering a blow to the head.
According to reports, Chisolm and the man, Jason Hope of Rose Hall Town, were involved in an altercation over the money.
Chisholm told this publication that he and a friend were at Rose Hall Town, Corentyne, after a basketball game on Sunday, when the suspect approached demanding $300.
“Jason tell me that I have to give him $300 and I turn and say, ‘how I gon give you $300 and ah only got $100…,” the man related.
“He come and push he hand in my pocket and I say don’t do it or ah gon lash you. He still keep doing it an ah push he away,” he added.
Chisolm related that he picked up a piece of wood and went after the man; however, he changed his mind. “So I throw away the wood and he pick up one and he turn to come and lash me and when he fired the first one, I didn’t get catch because I run around the stand. Then he come around the stand and fire the wood at me and it catch me in my face.” The Police have taken Hope into custody and he is assisting with the investigations.
