DJ charged for playing loud music

Disc Jockey (DJ) Tony Bowen popularly known as “Mix Master Tony” was charged for disturbing the peace by playing loud music.

The DJ appeared before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts on Friday and denied the charge which stated that on July 3, 2021, at Taco Laco, he disturbed the peace by playing loud music.
Bowen, 26, of Third Street Cummings Lodge, Greater Georgetown, was released on $10,000 bail and was instructed to return to court on July 13 when the owner of Taco Laco is expected to be charged.
Bowen’s lawyer told the court that his client was never told to lower the volume of the music. The lawyer said that the Police just showed up at the venue and arrested his client.
Meanwhile, in another case before Magistrate Daly, Shanice Farinha was charged with assaulting a Police rank. The incident is alleged to have occurred on June 1, 2021, in Georgetown.
The woman was also charged with behaving disorderly in a public place. She denied both charges. The Magistrate released her on a total of $40,000 bail and she will make her next court appearance on September 13, 2021.
