Doctor hospitalised after struck down by colleague

A doctor attached to the Suddie Public Hospital has been hospitalised after he was reportedly stuck down along the Mainstay Public Road, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam), by a colleague from the same medical institution.
Dr Tameshwar Karran was allegedly struck by Dr Magdalena Clay and suffered multiple injuries about the body. Reports are Dr Karran of Richmond Village was immediately transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital, having received multiple fractures about his body. According to information reaching Guyana Times, the accident between the two doctors occurred at about 08:00h.
Reports indicate Dr Karran was riding his motorcycle while Dr Clay was driving a SUV heading in the southern direction. Eyewitnesses said the collision between Clay and Karran caused the latter to fall from his motorcycle. It was further reported that Clay then allegedly drove away. The force of the impact reportedly threw Karran several feet into the air before he landed on the road way.
Another resident recalled that he heard a loud impact and several residents rushed to investigate. The man said that they then discovered Dr Karran lying helplessly in pain on the road. He was then rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital by a public spirited citizen and later transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he remains a patient.
The matter was reported to the Anna Regina Police Station and Dr Clay was arrested and later released on station bail. Investigations are continuing.
