Three Dorado swimmers carted off the top prizes at the annual Sawaki River Swim (Bartica to River’s view) on Sunday in celebration of River’s view village day.

Daniel Scott, Soroya Simmons and Alex Winter finished the rough race in first, second and third respectively. Scott ended the 2.5 km race in a time of 57:05.78, Simmons 54:06.74 and Winter 57:05.78.
The race occurred in choppy, brackish waters, with a strong current which forced some of the swimmers to actually swim approximately 4 km.
Orca Swim Club Earlando Mc Rae finished in a time of 1hour 07 minutes 24 seconds; fifth place went to Lloyd Ward with his time being 1 hour 13 minutes 58 seconds. One hour, 19 minutes 36 seconds allowed Daniel Jeffrey to finish in sixth while seventh place went to Orin Bowen with a recorded time of 1hour 20 minutes 26 seconds. Eighteen swimmers started the race while only seven completed.
